Hancock Design and Build is a husband-and-wife led design-build firm in Austin. We started in 2021 with one idea: the person who designs the house and the person who builds it should be in the same room. Shea leads design and selections. Eric leads the field. Every drawing gets worked over by both of us before a trade ever sees it, so what's on paper is what gets built.
We take on full-gut renovations for people who plan to stay a while. Our job is to make the new work feel like it was always part of the house, then hand you back a home that runs the way you live.
It's your home, not our project.
A renovation asks a lot of a family. You lose your kitchen for three months, there are strangers in your house, and you're making expensive decisions on somebody else's timeline. We've never lost track of the fact that the house we're working in is the home you'll be living in.
So we work the way we'd want someone working in ours. We show up when we said we would. We clean up at the end of the day. And when something goes sideways — because on a renovation something always goes sideways — you hear it from us that day, not in a change order at the end.
